ChemRay
ChemRay is a script written in Python that is capable (under ideal
circumstances) of turing MDL .mol files, such as those generated by ChemSketch
or ISIS into .pov files suitable for rendering with POVRay. This allows a
person to quickly turn a chemical structure into a high quality rendering to be
used in reports, papers, etc. ChemRay is free, and is distributed under the
General Public License, which is included in the download. Since ChemRay is
just a side project of the author, Jonathan Tomshine, there is no support
offered. Still, feel free to contact me at [email protected] if something
isn't working for you.
Requirements
To run this program you must have:
- Python, available from the link below
- POVRay, also available in a link below
- a source of .mol files, such as ChemSketch
- the ability to use a command-line program with no GUI
I have tested ChemRay under Windows 2000, and it should work on many other
platforms, but I won't guarntee it.
